Tony B -- BIO Recognized as one of today’s premier vocalists, Tony B is carrying on the traditions of the legendary entertainers with a style & charm that is uniquely his own. Blessed with a voice of distinction that captures the excitement of Darin, the power of Bennett, and the swinging sensibility of Sinatra, Tony is a first class singer/songwriter who always presents a high-energy show featuring past classics to modern day gems. A native New Yorker, Tony started singing at a very young age after being captivated by Bobby Darin's recording of Mack the Knife. Among his musical idols are Darin, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Paul McCartney, & Al Jolson. (Although he is not known as an impressionist, Tony has received worldwide critical acclaim for his uncanny vocal impression of the great Al Jolson) Tony’s original song “50 YEARS” is currently the # 1 requested song (WHLI Radio, Long Island, N.Y.) Tony has appeared at the Showboat Casino Hotel, Trump Taj Mahal, Bally's Grand, The Tropicana, Mohegan Sun, and The Sands. In addition to being an acclaimed singer/entertainer, Tony is also a composer. The title track of his debut CD "Swingin' Around”, was featured in the movie "THE CREW" (Touchstone Pictures), as well as on Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Milan Records / BMG). Radio Hall of Fame talk show host Joey Reynolds of WOR radio (NY) said, "Tony B is as exciting as Bobby Darin was when he first burst upon the scene." Tony is featured in five books: “Sinatra Singing” (2010), “Frankie Laine: Mr. Rhythm” (2009), “STARDUST -The Bible of the Big Bands”(2008) “The Italian Crooners“(2005), and “When Jolson Was King“(2006). In 2007, his original song “Sentimental Heartstrings” was featured in the CBS.com animated series “Innertube” (episode: “Joe Pantoliano Brings Home A Girl”). Recent accomplishments include performing LIVE on the QVC Shopping Network, commercials for ESPN & USA Network, releasing his 3rd CD “Singin’ & Swingin”, & recording“The Little Drummer Boy” for the film “The Ice Harvest”(Focus Features), & singing on the soundtrack of “Capitalism: A Love Story”. A great honor was bestowed upon Tony when his recording of "I've Got The World On A String" was selected by the family of composer Harold Arlen, to represent that song in their catalogue at HaroldArlen.com. The recording was also featured as the 1st track on a compilation CD titled "Harold Arlen Now", which included Faith Hill, Tony Bennett, Natalie Cole, & B.B. King and Eric Clapton. Delta Airlines in-flight radio also featured Tony along with Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Harry Connick Jr., and Ella Fitzgerald. Additional credits include production shows, revues, radio, television, and film soundtracks. Tony’s voice has been heard in television and radio commercials for EXXON, ESPN, REISENS Candy, Temple University Healthcare, USA Network, WONKA Chocolates, Heineken Light, and the Megabucks Lottery. In March of 2001, Tony marked his Off-Broadway debut by receiving critical acclaim for his portrayal of band leader “Lane Stevens”, in "ROCKSTAR".
