| Mick Gaffney is simply the best all around guitarist in the business today. As music director of the Tony B Orchestra, he brings to the stage his considerable and incomparable talents, one of which is his chameleon like ability to alter his playing style to accomodate every musical genre'...and make it sound legit. Audience members thrill and marvel at how he does this with relative ease. One minute, they may be listening to him playing in the style of Les Paul, the next he may be playing a Jimmy Page type lead. The experience is quite extraordinary! Gaffney's Broadway credits include Grease, A Chorus Line and Dreamgirls. In addition, Mick has played for Marc Anthony and the legendary Paul Simon at Madison Square Garden. His playing is also featured on the movie soundtrack of "My Blue Heaven" and on TV commercials for NBC Sports and Northwest Airlines. Other credits include: Sam and Dave, Lesley Gore, Tommy James, The Mamas and the Papas, The Drifters, Ben E. King, Chubby Checker, Maxine Brown, Gary U.S Bonds, Chuck Mangione, Billy Preston, The Coasters, Little Anthony and the Imperials, the Teenagers, Jay and the Americans, Trini Lopez, Rita Moreno, Eartha Kit, Robert Goulet, Jim Nabors, Bobby Vinton, John Davidson, Frankie Laine, Danny Thomas, Dick Haymes, Abbe Lane, Howard Keel, Connie Haines, Milo O'Shea, Paul Lynde and Nipsy Russel. Mick has also appeared in music video's such as David Bowie's "The Pretty Things", and his unmistakable guitar licks can also be heard on Rosie O'Donnell's Christmas CD, on which he is featured playing on Billy Joel's track of "Have Yourself a Merry Christmas". **Note--Tony B recorded the reference vocal track that Billy Joel used as a guideline to record his own vocal. Gaffney has played and jammed with legendary guitarists like Les Paul, George Benson, Rick Derringer and Kevin Eubanks from the Jay Leno show. Paul Shaffer, Music Director for the Dave Letterman show, said of Mick, “He's one of the finest I've ever played with”. In addition to leading the Tony B Orchestra, Mick also leads the Uptown Swing Band, and Stingray's band The Delta Rays.
