| BIO – One Sheet -- Anthony Babino & Steven Babino
“The Babino Brothers Band” An emerging and exciting new band, “The Babino Brothers”, led by Anthony & Steven Babino, bring their unique and fresh sound to the music scene. Born and raised in Staten Island, NY, and growing up in a musical household, the boys were heavily influenced by The Beatles and the Classic Rock era. Anthony began playing guitar and writing songs at the age of nine, (and had the opportunity to record with Pat Metheny, before he turned 18). Steven joined in, learning to play bass and adding to the writing team a few years later. Over time, their songwriting skills have grown and flourished, as they have carefully weaved their tunes to include superb melodies, heartfelt lyrics, excellent chord structure, and dynamic riffs. The result is the creation of new material that is both electrifying and entertaining. We like to call it “retro-fresh”. The boys received critical acclaim for their first project “Desolate Town”, and are currently finishing up their second album. Public reaction has been incredible, as crowds love not only their songs and amazing talent, but their onstage persona, energy, and genuine camaraderie as well. In addition to rocking out many of the venue’s around NYC, Anthony, Steve and the band, have also become a favorite of the Jersey Shore hit radio stations 94.3FM “The Point” and 105.7FM “The Hawk”….and have played at several of their events, including the 2009 “Pointsettia Bash” at the Headliner in Asbury Park, where they opened for New Jersey’s top cover band “The NERDS”. Programming Director and Morning DJ Lou Russo called Anthony, “One of the best young vocalist song writing talents I’ve come across in a very very long time…his music and voice are filled with passion”. Recent & Current Achievements: • December 16, 2011 – Their new (unreleased) song “Morning In New York” featured numerous times on NBC television in NYC, to promo their year end montage of “The Today Show”-starring Matt Lauer. • Featured performance & interview - December 2010 BBC Documentary “The Lennon Legacy” • Featured on the Cover of “AWE” Entertainment Magazine - October 2010 • Featured Review in Music Connection Magazine - June 2010 • Performed “LIVE” on the air December 2010 on 94.3FM: The Point”, NJ’s # 1 hit radio station • 2009 Top Ten Finalist “International Acoustic Music Awards” for original song “The Coward” • Featured performer “Pointsettia Bash 2009” for 94.3FM at “The Headliner”, Asbury Park, NJ • Released debut CD “Desolate Town” • LIVE performances: The Bitter End, Wicked Willy’s, The Rainbow Room, St. Regis Hotel, The Headliner, The Wonderbar, The Langosta Lounge, Rella’s Tavern, and more… • The Babino Brothers have performed at many high profile events incl: performing the national anthem at a Beach Boys concert, & singing on stage w/the cast of “Jacques Brel Is Alive & Well & Living In Paris” |
